Becco NYC: Affordable Fine Dining on Restaurant Row

Tucked away on New York City’s famous “Restaurant Row,” Becco is a culinary hotspot that has earned its reputation as a must-visit destination. Combining upscale dining with affordable prices, Becco stands out in the city’s competitive food scene. One of its most impressive features? A $40-per-bottle wine list that’s practically unheard of in this area of Manhattan.

Owned by the renowned celebrity chef Lidia Bastianich, Becco attracts a crowd that includes Broadway performers, who often drop by after their shows. In fact, Lidia herself is a frequent guest, adding an extra touch of authenticity to this beloved establishment. The restaurant has also caught the attention of the media, even making an appearance on an episode of Friends. With all that star power, it’s no surprise that securing a reservation here is a smart move.

The Menu: Deliciously Affordable

While the affordable wine list may be a selling point, Becco’s food is where it truly shines. For just $36.95, you get all-you-can-eat homemade pasta—three different kinds, to be exact. Yes, you read that right: all-you-can-eat pasta, served with a side of homemade Caesar salad, a selection of fresh olive oil and bread, all paired perfectly with that $40 bottle of wine. This is the kind of deal you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else in New York City.

Having visited Becco several times, it’s hard to resist the pasta, but occasionally we venture off the beaten path to try something new. During one recent visit, we couldn’t pass up the Fluke Francese special, and it was absolutely delicious. Of course, we couldn’t leave without indulging in some pasta, along with a prosciutto and parmesan appetizer and an incredible dessert sampler to top off the meal. (Pictures below, because who wouldn’t want to see that!)
