The Kitchen Consigliere, located in Collingswood, New Jersey, is owned by Chef Angelo Kutz. A quick Google search will provide insight into Angelo’s history, and a visit to the restaurant’s website features a quote from Angelo himself. He famously said, “I’m a cook, not a crook,” during his testimony in a racketeering trial in 2001. Although the jury disagreed, with that chapter now behind him, Angelo returned with a renewed focus on his culinary career.

Stepping into The Kitchen Consigliere feels like being welcomed into your grandmother’s home for a Sunday dinner. The restaurant’s cozy, casual atmosphere is inviting, making it the perfect spot for a laid-back yet memorable meal. The decor and vibe exude warmth, and the menu is straight out of an authentic Italian cookbook, offering traditional dishes that are both comforting and satisfying.
While the food at The Kitchen Consigliere certainly lived up to expectations, it was the welcoming environment that truly made the experience special. We kicked things off with the sausage and meatball appetizer—absolutely fantastic! It was a unique combination that we had never tried before, and it quickly became a new favorite.
For our main course, we ordered linguini with clams and chicken marsala. The linguini with clams was a showstopper—just look at all those clams (see the picture below)! The chicken marsala was another highlight. What made it so great was its simplicity: no unnecessary frills or expensive ingredients, just classic chicken marsala made with love and care. It was comforting and delicious, just as it should be.
Despite its popularity, we found it surprisingly easy to get a reservation. And for the quality of the food and the atmosphere, the price is unbeatable. If you’re looking for a casual yet exclusive dining experience, The Kitchen Consigliere is the place to go.
